FEATURED CONCERT WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA ORCHESTRA

Presentation of the 2018-19 Ottawa Symphony – Senécal Mozart Prize and performance

We kicked off this year’s Monday Masterworks series with From Austria with Love in our new performance space, Dominion-Chalmers.

This concert featured the young Canadian musician who won the 2018-19 Senécal Mozart Prize, accompanied by our large-scale orchestra AND the University of Ottawa Orchestra, together for the first time on stage at Dominion-Chalmers.

Also on the program were compositions by Ottawa’s Kelly-Marie Murphy (winner of the inaugural “Maria Anna Mozart Award” for Canadian women composers), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Anton Bruckner.

Program

*Kelly-Marie MurphyA thousand natural shocks
Wolfgang Amadeus MozartExsultate, jubilate (feat. Winner of the 2018-19 Senécal Mozart Prize)

From the cradle of symphonic repertoire, we bring you the beautiful chamber music-like quality of Mozart’s concerto writing, and the powerful and deep faith of Bruckner.
