Bursting with charm, music, and imagination, A Day at the Farm is an original Canadian production perfect for children aged four to fifteen—and a delight for the young at heart! With a special spotlight on the percussion section, the music introduces young audiences to the instruments of the orchestra, while vivid narration brings the farmyard adventure to life. It’s a joyful, family-friendly experience filled with colour, character, and creativity.
The narration for A Day at the Farm will be presented in English only. French surtitles will be projected on screens and included in the digital program.
One hour before the performance, attendees are invited to participate in a pre-concert workshop presented by the YMCA of the National Capital Region. This hands-on experience will feature interactive activity stations for children and families, including sensory play, crafts, games, creative music-building activities, and an instrument petting zoo.
As part of the afternoon’s festivities, The Merry Dairy will provide complimentary ice cream for all children in attendance.
The Ottawa Symphony Orchestra continues its commitment to accessibility and audience development through family-friendly programming. Children aged 12 and under attend free, and accessible tickets are available for $19 for those aged 30 and under.
This concert is designed for families, first-time concertgoers, and anyone looking for an engaging introduction to live orchestral music.
